Re: Outage Announcement by BEDC

 

TCN hereby notes that it had nothing to do with the outage of today as published by  Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC on their social media platform.

The release  informed the general public that "the outage is to enable Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and contractors, Jasama Engineering perform critical maintenance on the network"

As part of the power sector value chain, we understand the need for maintenance to improve service delivery, but investigations revealed that no such work was carried out by TCN, necessitating this clarification.

We reiterate that no such maintenance was carried out by TCN today and therefore assume that the incorrect attribution to TCN must have been done in error as the maintenance was by BEDC on their 33kV GRA feeder.

We are aware of this because   BEDC had previously informed TCN of their intention to proceed with the scheduled outage to facilitate planned maintenance by their  (BEDC’s) contractors from 10:00am to  4:00pm, today,  Saturday, May 11, 2024.
