The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN is set to commission the newly constructed Lagos Regional Control Centre.

Engr. Wasiu Adedeji Tijani who stated this recently during an interview said that the building is almost set and will be commissioned and put to use in the few weeks to come.
Engr Tijani said that the idea behind the new building came up to meet the manpower requirements of the regional responsibilities in the electricity market and upgrading of the existing SCADA capacity for GRID visibility to go beyond 132Kv level.
While maintaining that the role of regional control center is to take care of the operations dispatch and control within the region in the market he added that TCN has interfaced with different utilities in the electricity value chain to intimate them of the development.
The principal function of the Regional Control center is for administrative management of all resources and effective coordination of operations at interfaces to ensure that necessary operations compliance within the region meet grid requirements.
