TCN Commences Research and Innovation Workshop

 


The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has inaugurated a two-day Research and Innovation Workshop on System Tools Application today, September 17, 2024, at its National Control Centre (NCC) in Osogbo.



The workshop underscores the pivotal role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Efficient Energy Management and the development of innovative solutions within the electricity supply value chain.


In his opening remarks, the General Manager of NCC, Engr. Biliaminu Ishola, highlighted the critical importance of knowledge and innovation in the power sector. He praised the Management for fostering an environment where innovation can flourish and commended the Research & Innovation (R&I) Department for consistently delivering solutions that enhance grid stability.



Addressing the participants, AGM (R&I) Engr. Ojo David emphasised that the workshop reflects TCN’s dedication to research and development, aligning with its strategic vision of achieving efficient planning and safe grid control with minimal climate impact. He noted that by leveraging AI and smart grid technologies, TCN is well-positioned to revolutionise the power sector.


The workshop features presentations on various topics, including “Introducing and Troubleshooting the Controller: A Critical Component Designed for Real-time Monitoring of Power Parameters,” the "Printed Circuit Boards (PCB)", "Wireless Module (ESP8266)", and "Communication Card".
