The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kano Region, and the Kano State Ministry of Land and Physical Planning have reached a pivotal agreement to resolve legal disputes that have stalled the Kumbotso–Rimin Zakara 330kV transmission line project.

In a meeting held on July 21, 2025  to address litigation surrounding land ownership and compensation, the Kano State Government agree to compensate individuals whose cases remain under legal consideration and provide alternative land to affected parties.

This resolution according to TCN source removes the final obstacle that has been hindering the project completion and work will be accelerated to complete the transmission line, which is critical to improving electricity infrastructure and supporting industrial development in northern Nigeria.
