The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Abuja Region, hereby informs the public that there will be a temporary interruption of bulk power supply through the Katampe Transmission Substation from 9:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The scheduled outage is to enable TCN engineers to safely carry out the commissioning and energisation of the newly installed 300MVA, 330/132kV power transformer at the Katampe Transmission Substation.
During the exercise, the station’s existing 150MVA transformer and its associated equipment will be temporarily isolated to provide a safe working environment.
Consequently, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to offtake bulk electricity for onward distribution to parts of Suleja, Kubwa, and Bwari during the outage period.
TCN apologises for any inconvenience this may cause electricity consumers in the affected areas.
