Press Release: Scheduled Maintenance at Gwagwalada 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation

TCN Transmission News

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Abuja Region, hereby informs the public that its maintenance crew will conduct annual maintenance at the Gwagwalada 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation today, Saturday, 20th June, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The scheduled maintenance will enable TCN engineers carry out preventive routine checks on a 150MVA 330/132/33kV power transformer and its associated switchgear.

During the maintenance exercise, TCN's 132kV Kukwaba, Apo, Karu, Keffi, and Akwanga substations will still be fed from Katampe, while Gwagwalada will be fed from the other 150MVA power transformer in service at the substation.

There would, however, be minimal load limitation during the seven-hour maintenance period.

TCN apologises for any inconvenience this may cause consumers in the affected areas.
