TCN’s Industrial Relations Team Concludes On-site Engagement Tour of Abuja Region

In a renewed drive to strengthen industrial harmony and deepen management-employee engagement, the Industrial Relations Team of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) concluded an on-site engagement tour of the Abuja Region. 

The team was led by the General Manager, Industrial Relations, Mr. L. D. Zakari, and was received by the General Manager, Transmission, Abuja Region, Engr. Musa Shuaibu.. Engr. Shuaibu commended the initiative, describing it as a strategic step toward building a more collaborative, motivated, and high-performing workforce across the Company.

The engagement focused on staff welfare, employee relations, and strategies for enhancing job satisfaction while sustaining a culture of excellence and mutual respect within the workplace. 

A key highlight of the tour was an interactive session with representatives of staff unions and cooperative societies. The session provided a platform for open dialogue, feedback, and shared ideas on issues affecting employees’ welfare, industrial relations, and the overall growth of the organization. It reinforced the spirit of partnership and trust between Management and staff.

Speaking during the tour, Mr. Zakari reaffirmed TCN Management’s commitment to putting people first.   "Our people are our greatest asset. When we listen, engage, and invest in their welfare, we build a stronger TCN and a stronger national grid," he stated.

He noted that a motivated workforce is central to TCN’s mandate of delivering safe, reliable, and efficient bulk power transmission across the nation.

This initiative reflects TCN’s dedication to proactive engagement, inclusive leadership, and continuous investment in its people. By fostering open communication and collaboration, TCN continues to build a work environment where employees are valued, empowered, and inspired to contribute to the Company’s vision of a stable and robust national grid. 

The Abuja engagement marks the continuation of TCN’s nationwide industrial relations tour, aimed at strengthening workplace harmony and aligning staff commitment with the Company’s strategic objectives.
