As part of activities to mark the end of the year (2023), the Enugu Sub-Region of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN Sports and Recreational Club has donated several items to wives of deceased staff and host communities.
The donation was part of activities that climaxed the two-day sports activities held between December 13-14, 2023 to end the year for the sub-region.
The Sports club which organized a football match between the male and female staff of the Enugu Region also featured other activities like outdoor games, indoor games and health checks.
In the football match, the Sub Region male team defeated the regional male team with 2 goals to nothing, while the female team of the regional office defeated their counterpart at the Sub Region.
Speaking , the GM (T) Enugu Region, Engr. Emmanuel Akpa who encouraged staff to take sports seriously to keep fit, thanked the AGM(T) Enugu Sub Region Engr Charles Iwuamadi and the chairman of the sports club, Engr. Chukwuma Chikezie for making the sports club a success.
On his part, Engr. Iwuamadi thanked the staff and encouraged them to always exercise as it adds value to one’s life.
While presenting the most active staff in sports a gift of tread mill machine, he lauded the management for understanding the value of sports and encouraging staff to be active in sporting activities.
The grand finale of the events also featured presentation of awards to sports lovers.
