NCC Hosts NERC Technical Workshop On Codes Operators In NESI

TCN National Control Centre (NCC) Osogbo is currently hosting a two-day Sensitization Workshop on Technical codes in the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry (NESI). The workshop scheduled for 24th to 25th April, 2024, was initiated and organized by Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). 


The GM NCC, Engr. Billiaminu Ishola urged Operators in the electricity value chain to ensure that they comply with the Grid Code to adequately manage and maintain the grid to ultimately improve electricity supply across the nation.



In his remarks, the Commissioner, Engineering and Performance Monitoring NERC, Dr. Chidi Ike, emphasized that the workshop will sensitize Operators on grid code operational reporting and compliance requirements for a more reliable and stable grid operation in NESI. 


While explaining aspects of the Grid Code, Engr. Dr Akin Alade, a former GM of NCC, now retired, highlighted the responsibilities of System Operators as stipulated and enjoined operators to ensure strict compliance to achieve a more stable and reliable grid.



Present at the workshop are all General Managers Transmission, Regional Operation Coordinators across TCN Regions and some key personnel of Electricity Generation Companies (GENCOS).
