TCN, Rivers Govt Meet Power Stakeholders In Port Harcourt

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Port Harcourt Region recently participated in a critical Power Stakeholders’ meeting organized by the Rivers State Ministry of Power. The meeting which held in Port Harcourt and presided over by the state’s Commissioner of Power, Hon. Solomon Abel Eke, also had in attendance, representatives from the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, TransAfam Power, and First Independent Power Limited.

Speaking in the meeting, General Manager, Transmission, Port Harcourt region, Engr. Emmanuel Akpa, shared TCN's accomplishments, highlighting the energization of 125MVA power transformers at Port Harcourt Main and Port Harcourt Town Substations. 

He added that contracts have also been awarded for the rehabilitation of Afam-IPP-Port Harcourt Lines and Port Harcourt Main-Port Harcourt lines, ensuring maximum load distribution to centers.

Earlier, in his opening remarks, the Commissioner said that the engagement aimed to discuss progress made toward delivering stable electricity to Rivers State residents. He charged all participants to discuss freely and share their expertise ideas on how to improve public power supply in the state.
