The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has reiterated its commitment to boost electricity supply in the Osogbo Sub-Region with the ongoing 2x60MVA transmission substation project at the Ede Transmission Substation in Osun State.
The General Manager (Transmission) of Oshogbo Region, Engr. Adeshina O.A gave the assurances during a courtesy visit by the Senator representing Osun Central, Sen. Olubiyi Fadeyi-Ajagunla, and Lt. Col. Isyaku K.H. of the Nigerian Army Engineering Battalion, Ede.
Engr. Adeshina revealed that TCN is currently working on a 2x60MVA transmission substation in Ede, Osun State which on completion, will effectively boost bulk power supply in Ede and neighboring communities.
He added that the company had also energized a 100MVA 330/132/33kV transformer in the Osogbo Sub-Region, and would, in the coming week, energize a 300MVA 330/132/33kV transformer.
While reaffirming his commitment to implementing effective measures aimed at ensuring a more reliable electricity supply across Osun State, he however appealed to Lt. Col. Isyaku to support TCN’s efforts by engaging military personnel in safeguarding TCN infrastructure against vandalism.
Earlier, Fadeyi-Ajagunla said that the visit was to seek clarification and gain firsthand insight into the company’s efforts to improve power supply in Osun State, particularly in the Nigerian Army Battalion base at Ede and its surrounding areas.
