The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN yesterday , November 19,2025 participated in the inaugural Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) Stakeholders Engagement Forum in Abuja, an important gathering of key players in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
Addressing the forum themed “Building a Resilient and Competitive Electricity Market: The Role of the Nigerian System Operator,” the Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, hailed NISO for the initiative, describing it as a landmark milestone in the sector’s transformation.
“This engagement represents a significant step in our collective efforts to strengthen the electricity sector and promote a more reliable, competitive, and transparent electricity market for the benefit of all Nigerians,” Adelabu stated.
In a goodwill message delivered on behalf of TCN, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sule Abdulaziz, reaffirmed the company’s steadfast dedication to the national grid’s evolution.
“TCN remains committed to maintaining and expanding critical transmission infrastructure to ensure a stable bulk power delivery across the nation,” Abdulaziz said.
He highlighted ongoing investments in high-voltage lines and substations as essential for accommodating growing demand and integrating renewable energy sources, positioning TCN as a linchpin in NESI’s modernization drive.
The forum, which drew representatives from generation companies, distribution firms, regulators, and international partners, featured panel discussions on system operations, regulatory reforms, and technology integration.
The Managing Director of NISO, Engr. Abdu Bello Mohammed emphasized the need for synergy among industry stakeholders.
