TCN, Partners Sensitize Kano Communities On Power Transmission Project


The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) in partnership with NESPAK, SUMEC & African Development Bank (AfDB), held a public sensitization campaign in Rimin Zakara, Kano, on the ongoing 330kV Mando–Rimin Zakara Transmission Line  project on November 4, 2025.


Speaking at the event, the Assistant General Manager, Transmission, Kano Region of TCN, Engr. Ibrahim Aliyu emphasised the need to protect the transmission corridor and warned that structures built after the valuation exercise will not be compensated.



On his part, the AfDB’s representative, Ibrahim Muhammad urged traditional leaders to help raise awareness and assured that verified property owners will be compensated soon.


The Village Head of Rimin Gata, Emir Umar Usman Yahaya pledged support, noting the project’s potential to boost electricity, create employment and economic growth in the region.
