TCN Commissions 300MVA Power Transformer At Lekki Substation

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) , Lagos Region has successfully commissioned a new 300MVA power transformer installed at its 330/132/33kV Lekki Transmission Substation, Lagos State.

In a statement by the General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, TCN said that the commissioning took place on Friday December 19, 2025.

Mbah said that the 300MVA power transformer has increased the capacity of the substation from 300MVA to 600MVA at the 330kV side, allowing for more load on the 132kV side with redundancy and reliability during maintenance and planned outages.

According to her, “this equally means more bulk power available for Eko Electricity Distribution Company to off-take to its customers in Lekki, Chevron Estate, Maroko, Agungi, and environs.”

The project is part of the ongoing TCN-World Bank power projects aimed at enhancing power supply in Nigeria.
