During the visit, TCN engineers led by the Principal Manager, Transmission, Engr. Matthew Ealefoh took the students on a tour of the substation, explaining the pivotal role of various stakeholders in Nigeria's electricity value chain, with particular focus on TCN's role in the sector.
The students observed the practical day to day activities in the transmission substation, and were taught bulk power evacuation process from generation companies to distribution companies, and were also shown key components such as transformers, switchgears, transmission towers, and personal protective equipment (PPE) among others.
Earlier, when the students arrived at the transmission subregion, they were briefed on health and safety protocols, emphasizing the importance of compliance and the dangers of non-observance.
The school management led by Mr. . . . . appreciated TCN for the practical exposure and valuable knowledge shared, and expressed the hope that it inspires the students to pursue careers in science, engineering, and energy-related fields.
