The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Benin Region, participated in a stakeholders’ engagement convened by the Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, to discuss ways to improve electricity supply in Edo State and address the impact of the ongoing gas shortage affecting power generation across the country.
The meeting brought together representatives of TCN, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), Benin Generation Company, and civil society organisations.
Discussions focused on the electricity supply challenges in the state and explored practical solutions to improve power availability for residents, following concerns raised by citizens over the recent reduction in electricity allocation.
