The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kano Region, paid a courtesy visit to the Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to reinforce collaboration in protecting critical power infrastructure on February 4, 2026.
The delegation, led by Assistant General Manager Technical Services, Engr. Ibrahim Aliyu, who also serves as Chairman of the Anti-Vandalism and Encroachment Committee, highlighted the urgent need to intensify efforts against vandalism and encroachment on transmission facilities. He assured that TCN will continuously sensitize communities on the dangers and consequences of tampering with electricity infrastructure.
Welcoming the team, the Kano State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mohammed A. Hassan, pledged to strengthen operational strategies, particularly in areas hosting TCN installations, to curb vandalism and safeguard national assets.
In a related engagement, the TCN delegation also visited the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Lawal Mani at the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters, Bompai, Kano. DCP Mani expressed the readiness of the Police to support initiatives aimed at combating vandalism and reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to working closely with TCN to protect Nigeria’s transmission infrastructure.
