TCN Strengthens Ties with DSS, NSCDC to Combat Vandalism

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is intensifying its efforts to curb vandalism and encroachment of transmission Right of Way (RoW) by collaborating with key security agencies.

General Manager, Transmission, Benin Region, Engr. Charles C. Iwuamadi, recently visited the Department of State Service (DSS) and the Nigeria Security & Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) to solicit greater support in combating these issues.

Iwuamadi highlighted TCN Benin Region's crucial role in maintaining grid stability and expressed gratitude for the security operatives' ongoing assistance. He emphasized the need for seamless communication between TCN and security agencies to bolster protective measures for infrastructure, noting that vandalism poses a significant risk to the nation's electricity supply.

Responding, Edo State NSCDC Commandant, Mr. Joseph Gbenga, and DSS State Director, Mrs. Maria Ernest, reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration with TCN to safeguard transmission assets in the region.

This partnership is part of TCN's broader initiative to address security concerns surrounding its installations, particularly in the wake of recent vandalism and encroachment incidents in Delta and Edo States.
