TCN Transmission News
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) hereby informs the general public that the outage on the Bauchi–Gombe 330kV transmission line has been extended. The extended outage, which commenced on Wednesday, 2nd July 2026, will remain in effect until Thursday, 30th July 2026.
The extension is to enable contractors to continue the installation of the Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) on the Bauchi–Gombe single-circuit 330kV transmission line. It also covers the days lost during the earlier approved outage period, allowing the ongoing work to be completed as planned.
Consequently, Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) will be unable to off-take bulk power from TCN for distribution to customers within its franchise area for the duration of the outage.
TCN apologizes for the inconvenience this extended outage will cause affected electricity customers as work progresses to strengthen the nation’s transmission network and improve the reliability of power supply.
