TCN HQ Industrial Relations Team Visits Kano Regional Office

In an effort to strengthen union and management relations and reinforce workplace safety, TCN is deepening dialogue with staff nationwide. As part of this initiative, the TCN HQ Industrial Relations Team visited the Kano Regional Office on 20th August 2026.

The visit is part of a nationwide tour focused on staff welfare, industrial harmony, and union collaboration. The team was received by the Assistant General Manager, Technical Services, Kano Region, Engr. Ibrahim Aliyu.

Leading the delegation, the General Manager, Industrial Relations, Mr. Lawal Zakari, held engagement sessions with the two in-house unions, the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) and the Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSEAEC), alongside representatives from various departments.

Discussions centered on addressing workplace concerns, improving staff welfare, and fostering stronger collaboration between management, unions, and staff to support TCN’s mandate of bulk power transmission.

On safety, Mr. Zakari emphasized strict adherence to occupational safety standards across all TCN facilities. He noted that preventing incidents and maintaining a safe, productive work environment remains a shared responsibility of management, unions, and individual staff.

The engagement reaffirmed TCN Management’s commitment to prioritizing people, safety, and industrial harmony as critical enablers for delivering reliable electricity to Nigerians.
