Press Release: Restoration of Bulk Power Supply to Affected Parts of Lagos Following Temporary Outage

TCN Transmission News

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) wishes to inform the public that bulk power supply has been fully restored to affected parts of Lagos State following the temporal disruption of bulk supply earlier today, Tuesday, 27th October 2026.

The outage occurred at approximately 4:59pm during a rainstorm accompanied by heavy lightning, which caused the Olorunsogo–Ikeja West and Benin–Egbin 330kV transmission lines tripping.

Our engineers restored supply to Ikeja West Transmission Substation at 5:28pm through the Ikeja West–Omotosho 330kV transmission line and at 7:27pm, bulk power supply had been fully restored to all affected injection substations supplying the Ikeja and Eko Electricity Distribution networks.

TCN remains committed to ensuring the reliable and efficient transmission of bulk power across its transmission network.
